Turtle Watching
My absolute favorite picture of our Hawaii trip. We looked almost daily for the sea turtles in the ocean. Dallin got decent at spotting them, but I am hesistant to say Porter saw a single one! But they enjoyed looking nonetheless. I need this pic poster size I think.

Happy Valentine's Day to us! What better place to spend it...

Fun in the sun....

until the point of exhaustion! But let's be hones, naps by the pool, you can't beat that!

Yosh and i even got a date while we were there! And I must say I think it was one of our longest meals. Very fun!

Yosh busted out his new camera while we were there, so when there is more time on our hands we'll have to see what he captured! Vacation is fun. I really like spending continual, fun time with my fam and vacation seems to be just the place! Loved it!

Pictures are out again, and let me promise you I have a couple of good ones! But the service is a bit sketchy over here is paradise, and that is ok b/c not much else is. We're over here in Hawaii and it has once again lived up to our every expectation. I guess our only solid expectation is sun. (I write this as I'm sitting inside for the first rain day!) I promised the boys two things before we came here. 1)They could wear shorts every single day (mostly geared towards Porter) and 2)they could go swimming every single day (more geared towards Dallin.) So far I've been able to make good on my promises. I guess we'll be jumping in the pool today regardless of weather cooperation just to keep good on my word.
The boys have had some funny moments here. The other day we were at the pool when a big cloud went in front of the sun. He turned to me all serious, "Mom, did someone just turn the lights off?" Ha ha! Makes sense in a three year olds mind.
Porter will often touch my tummy and say, "Mommy, do you have a baby in there?" Somewhat recently he has turned to other growing body parts- my boobs- and asked the same question. I tell him no and he might continue with dialogue or not. Well the other day he started down this same road with Yosh's grandma. First he touched her tummy and asked her if she had a baby in there. She obviously said no and then he continued on up touching her boobs asking if she had a baby in there. She gave a slightly embarrassed chuckle before answering no. Well Porter didn't skip a beat, "then are those your boobies?" He was just smiling by then and sensed that she was feeling something as well and said it again, "Are those your boobies?" (imagine a high voice inflex on the word boobies!) We got a good laugh out of that as we were not the only ones present for the entertainment and strangers also were within ear shot of this comical conversation!
Family vacation is good!!

Yeah! I didn't know I could upload pics to the lab top but apparently I can. So here are some randoms...

Here is the one picture I have to document our New Years Eve: the guys at Benihanas. Is it weird that they all wanted to sit by each other and not by their wives? I guess we've been depriving them of guy time. Laura I know you were holding your breath for this pic. Hope it lives up to your expectations!

Two cute boys. What will three look like?

For those who remember me when I only had one chin, I now have two. And we're only half way there. (And yes, I know that is a lot of smile and the braces don't help. Some of us just weren't born with the photogenic gene.) This was to document that I actually took my boys to the zoo. First time to the LA zoo. B wouldn't indulge me by being in the pic, but he too made his debut at the zoo.

A cold, January day. Ok half of that sentence is a lie. But not the half you would guess. It is a January day but a warm, 75 degree January day. As Laura said, we pay a pretty penny to enjoy this Southern California weather! Our mortgage dollars at work!! But seriously is this amazing or what. Not only warm enough to stay outside all day long, but to be outside in the water! Fun day, like skipping school when it's this warm in January!

So we still are yet to have the computer up and running so once again no pics. It's actually kind of funny why the internet isn't working. Yosh finally got around to calling our internet company on Saturday only to find out that from their side everything is running properly. As Yosh was checking the connection here, he saw that the phone jack is basically yanked out of place. And let me tell you how that has happened. We have come up with a really cruel punishment for our boys. We refer to it as "dark timeout." They hate it, therefore it really gets the job done! Even with Pistol, who is a hard one to discipline! What it is is our utility closet right by the kitchen. We store our extra dining room table chairs in there so it is perfect to sit them on their little tushes, turn off the light and shut the door for the allotted 2 or 3 minutes. The door allows a sliver of light to shine through, but other than that, it is them and the dark. Not fun. Like I mentioned, it is very effective. The only problem is the stray wires, cords, etc that connect to who-knows-what. (Well, apparently one connects to the internet.) But they go in their a bit enojado and start yankin and whatever their little hands can reach. And time has taken a toll on the internet cord, almost completely ripped out of its home. Sad for me as I can no longer upload photos to the computer. Also sad that we better find a new scary timeout. That's not as easy thing to come by. That being said, we may be on the road to recovery. At least we now know what the problem is.
But I am resolved to not let this little blog be neglected. Hopefully soon I'll be able to document what we are actually doing in our lives.

Ok I vowed to update my blog, but to be honest... no new material. I'm drawing a blank. Our computer is down so no way to upload pics. See that's one of the inconveniences, if you will, of also having a lab top. Throws the incentive to get the desk top fixed right out the front door. But if I did have a working computer I would show you lovely pictures of the day and a half I spent in San Francisco with neither kids nor husband. Now that is actually false because even though I lugged the camera around with me the whole time, I didn't take a single shot. Su-prise, but who has time to take pics when you're eating near constantly and on a mad shopping mission. Much to my husband's relief, the shopping mission wasn't for me. Although I did find a thing or two for my growing self. There is a thing or two that I have learned about adjusting to the pregnant body. 1)Do not wash any of your jeans for as long as possible. They will grow right along with you. That being said, I think we're going on a good 2 months of dirty jeans. And couldn't be happier about it. I like my jeans and would prefer staying in them until I am about to snap buttons. That's an exaggeration because, now that I am on baby #3, I really value comfort a lot more than I did before. Unfortunately I didn't find out about the belly band until recently cuz it really would have opened up options for month 3 and 4. Shoot, and probably even 2. I guess I really don't have a point number 2, even though I would stress comfort. Like Kady said, when you have on maternity or more comfy clothes you don't feel that extra 5 lbs that seems to creep on every other week.
Other pics would be of the beautiful weather we've been enjoying here in Southern California. I don't know how we are in the heat while everyone else is in a deep freeze, but it is some phenomenon. And we all know how weather affects the soul, and my soul is much appreciative of the Vitamin D. So hopefully our internet gets fixed soon and I become more blog-energetic to keep this thing a titch more interesting....

Laughing so hard you peed your pants and sleepovers

As I lay in bed last night not able to find sleep anywhere, my mind started one of those crazy journeys that you never know where it will take you. Well this journey ended up being a good one. All of a sudden I was in 7thgrade at my friend Cindy Whitlow's sleepover. She had quite a few girls over that night and we were all out playing night tag. Laurie Brader and I were hiding together and being very, very sneaky. We were hiding on the side of this building and had a plan to take off across this little short cut that went through the woods and then to back to Cindy's house. For whatever reason, Laurie was going to go first and then I was going to follow. She took off at full speed, adrenaline amping her speed for the fear of getting caught. I was on the look out to make sure no one was coming. As I turned around to make my escape, I saw the funniest sight. Laurie was literally extended in mid-air, neither hands nor feet touching the ground. The complete darkness didn't reveal the full story. As I slowly walked closer, already in giggles, I saw that there was a fence there. Obviously neither one of us had seen this fence when devising our plan and it turned out to be quite the impediment! We both began laughing so hard, and the laughing continued and continued...until I finally peed my pants from laughing so hard!! The conclusion I came to last night... Life doesn't get much better than laughing so hard you pee your pants. Those moments don't come all too often, and when they do, that must mean life is good, at least in that very specific moment!
The other thing I got to thinking about was sleepovers. Remember staying up til all hours of the night, laughing at absolutely nothing at all, telling super scary stories, and sharing deep, dark secrets? And then remember the parents yelling down periodically to keep it down, that it was 2 in the morning, that they've asked us how many times to talk just a little quieter? And remember that each time this parent made such an unreasonable request you promised to yourself that when you got older you would be the cool parent that didn't care how late you stayed up and didn't care how loud you were? I remember those promises, and to be honest I'm a little nervous about sticking to those promises. Just don't know if I'll have it in me. Squealing girls til 4 am, fighting boys, endless games, basically just tons of fun.... we'll have to see. Now as I was thinking about this last night, I again came to a conclusion. I don't know how different we are as adults. Even in our adult lives aren't those some of the memories that stick out the most, when we stayed out way too late with our friends, laughing about nothing, coming up with the funniest/stupidest jokes, and playing games? The only difference is that we don't wake our sleeping kids up so they can't come yell at us and tell us to be quiet. See, kids and adults aren't all that different. I'll need to remember that in 5 or so years when the late night sleepovers start.
